Job Description

Adobe is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead Software Engineering efforts with a team of highly talented engineers. This is a hands-on position, leading globally distributed teams to build high- scale public facing software solutions .

You will have the autonomy to influence culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on strategy and execution.
Further, you will be responsible for establishing a collaborative work environment that fosters a high degree of craftsmanship and personal growth. You should be able to design, communicate, and implement reliable, scalable, and extensible software applications across a variety of software stacks. An organized data-driven approach, willingness to constantly experiment, and the desire to be involved in product decisions are a must

What You Will Do
  • You will build, and lead a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
  • Working cross-functionally throughout the organization (product, support, marketing, etc.) to deliver a best-in-class Order Management solution
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values.
  • Establish clear goals and performance objectives, set and manage expectations with the team, and communicate and execute those goals within timelines.
  • Work with peers to build integrations across products and foster knowledge sharing.
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
  • Define and implement engineering best practices and strategies, while tracking key metrics for quality and team performance that results in continuous improvement.
  • Actively lead engineering teams and collaborate with product managers, technical leads, individual contributors, and other leaders in the organization
  • Own and deliver complex technical projects from the planning stage through execution and support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
  • Provide guidance on architecture and design, and define processes for launching high quality products and features
  • Quickly become an expert on the product architecture, workflows and business domain.
  • While contributing code is not a requirement, candidate should be able to participate in architecture, design and code reviews.
  • Report on progress to goals, current roadblocks, time estimations and results; along with any recommendations of incremental needs in order to speed up project timelines.

What You Will Need
  • 10+ years of software engineering management experience with a proven track record of leading software engineering teams to deliver internet scale solutions to market.
  • 3+ years of experience building and running websites and applications in AWS.
  • Proven track record of hiring and recruiting tech talent locally and globally. Hired 10+ people in the past 3 years.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing 2 or more teams simultaneously, leading other managers and delivering software projects on time.
  • Strong knowledge of design patterns and general OOP principles.
  • Experience with architectural design for performance and scalability.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with engineering productivity tool chains and concepts (CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • Experience in Agile methodologies leading teams in Agile Scrum / Kanban process.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT or Mathematics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing Technical Operations / DevOps teams.
