One
of BlaBlaCar’s key strategic goals is to generate more activity and
usage. The Growth Tribe at BlaBlaCar aims at leveraging all means
possible (machine learning, product, tech, marketing, design…) in an
agile way in order to grow our user base and to make BlaBlaCar’s service
even more efficient and frequent.
To fulfill this ambition, you
will join a dedicated agile cross-skills squad, operating as a
mini-startup within BlaBlaCar. The squad is comprised of tier one
profiles with a strong entrepreneurial mindset: mobile engineer,
front-end engineer, UX designer, product manager and data analyst. The
roadmap of the squad fits into the broader ambition of the Growth Tribe.
What you will directly contribute to
Helping
passengers and drivers to efficiently find the best BlaBlaCar
carpooling available on our marketplace using state-of-the-art machine
learning techniques
Developing models to explain matching
between passengers and drivers, crunching through massive geospatial
and behavioral data sets
Designing price-recommendation
algorithms to assist drivers and passengers in getting the best
transportation between any two cities in the world
Recommending and testing real-time solutions to maximize millions of users’ chances of travelling with BlaBlaCar
Qualifications
What you will need to be successful
Hold an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Operations Research or PhD.
Have a minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist, building predictive machine learning models.
Have
some experience applying datascience techniques to geospatial data a
plus; Familiarity with pricing optimization and inventory management
also a plus.
Demonstrate excellent programming skills in one scripting language (SQL, Python, R, etc)
Possess superb communication skills; you are able to explain your models clearly to both analysts and decision makers.
Be humble, structured, organized, motivated by innovation and a relentless doer
Enjoy working as a team-player and learning from others
Be fluent in English
