Launched in 2012, Rentify provides revolutionary services and technology
to the UK’s landlords and tenants, working with more than 200,000
landlords and processing millions of pounds of fees, rent, and deposits
each year. The Company has grown rapidly and attracted $10m USD of
venture capital from top tier investors including Balderton Capital.
Having completed a number of data science projects with external partners,
Rentify is now looking to increase our in-house data science capability,
to help extend existing projects, and to lead and develop new projects,
helping Rentify to continue to improve our product offerings for both
landlords and tenants across the UK.
Responsibilities

Join our data science initiative to allow us to use our comprehensive
data sources to apply algorithmic learning across the organisation
- Extend our existing data models to incorporate new attributes
- Report on any improvements/regressions in the accuracy of our data models

Help to solve key business problems (e.g. how can we more accurately
value properties, how can we improve fraud discovery and how can we
improve the efficiency of our customer service team)
Requirements

Demonstrable track record at planning and building predictive models
which solve business problems
-
Strong statistical background (you're familiar with the practicalities
of data cleaning, feature engineering, descriptive analysis,
predictive modelling, model selection, hypothesis testing,
inference and results communication)

You understand the benefits and tradeoffs of using existing tools &
techniques, and are not afraid to tweak and improve them

Relevant recent experience creating data models from scratch using
Scientific Python and/or R for daily data science projects (at
minimum we expect experience with the usual Python tools
numpy/scipy/matplotlib/pandas/scikit-learn, and/or the 'Hadleyverse'
in R)

Periodically teach your co-workers all the great stuff you learnt
via tech talks, brown bags, blogs or open source
We'd also love it if...
- You’ve previously implemented machine learning/neural networks as a solution to a problem
- You’ve used graph databases (e.g. Neo4J) to build intelligence-led applications
- You’ve had experience implementing reporting tooling across a previous company
- You've presented at tech talks and data science conferences, and enjoy sharing your expertise
