Data Scientist in Berlin

We are looking for you to join our central Data Science team in Berlin as Data Scientist (f/m). Our mission is to improve and optimise the offerings for our customers. You will be analysing large and complex datasets using scientific methods and translating them into meaningful data products that can be rolled out for all of our markets. You will support and own data science projects such as supply optimisation, restaurant classification, and pricing recommendations.

Your Mission

• Conduct descriptive statistical analyses and consult business stakeholders

• Own data projects from data collection to operationalization.

• Specify your data needs, so our data engineers enrich the central data solutions.

• Closely align with non-technical stakeholders about the design of your data product

• Build data products that improve the business and scale to multiple markets.

• Identify new opportunities and advocate your ideas.

• Consolidate structured and semi-structured data from different heterogeneous data sources (BigQuery, Redshift, Salesforce, Google Analytics, PostgreSQL and many more).

• Enrich our data science team with your expertise and personality, contributing to a great working atmosphere
   

Your Heroic Skills

• Experience with scientific work in your Bachelors, Masters or PhD in statistics, physics, economics, mathematics, data science or similar.

• Experience working in a company environment in which you acquired a sound business understanding

• In-depth knowledge how to handle statistical uncertainties and how to apply statistical models such as regressors and classifiers

• You are fluent in python and you used it to write production level code

• Jupyter is part of your daily routine and you are an expert with using pythons scientific stack such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, etc


• Familiarity with software development practices and tools (Git, Jenkins, Linux shell, Docker, AWS)

• Experience with geospatial data is a huge plus

• You are a team player who loves to collaborate and work with stakeholders from different backgrounds in an international environment.

• Excellent English communication skills are imperative
