is actively looking for a talented Data Engineer who will contribute to
bring Checkout.com database architecture to the next level of world
class, cost-effective and innovative enterprise data management system.
We
are looking for a Data Engineer with AWS experience who will be
responsible for building data processes, infrastructure and ensuring
their stability, reliability, and performance. You will also work other
developers optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary, and
establishing best practices. You will help solve all SQL data issues and
come up with ideas and advice that can help prevent such problems in
the future.
The
ideal candidate must be a driven technologist, eager to ensure that our
ability to store, process, and analyse data keeps up with our customer
growth and our ambitions. You will have significant impact in the design
and implementation of the engineering vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a dedicated SQL development team working on full
lifecycle development projects as well as enhancing and modifying
existing applications.
- T-SQL programming and troubleshooting, query performance optimisation/tuning, building of indexes, views, stored procedures etc.
- Collaborate with Software and Web Technology leaders to deliver a
set of data architecture initiatives in line with our technology
objectives
- Partner with Operations and Finance stakeholders on strategic
projects to determine the metrics needed to manage the business and
ensure the global alignment of our data management processes
- Maintain and ensure strong processes, proper documentation, high
quality standards and best practice across data estate of the company.
Skills & Experience
- 4 years minimum hands-on experience with Full BI Stack Ideally SQL 2012 onwards.
- Proven track record converting successfully, requirements of the business into technical outputs.
- Highly passionate about database technologies and will have worked
within high volume / high availability environments with large data
sets.
- Robust understanding of relational database schema design and performance tuning
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and quantitative reasoning skills
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to work autonomously
- Experience with AWS server and Fin-tech background is advantageous.
- BSc in Computer Science or related field – MSc preferred
