Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Digital Origin analytics architecture, technology stack and all its underlying processes.

As Digital Origin is scaling up quickly we are looking for a new member to our Data Engineering department. The Data Engineer will design and build processes to extract & transform data and perform analysis to extract meaningful value.

As a Data Engineer you will closely collaborate with backend engineers as well as data scientists to create robust, scalable pipelines putting analytical solutions ready to generate reports, insights and new prediction models

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A degree such as computer science, math or physics
  • Experience managing ETL processes with large data sets
  • Advanced SQL skills: complex queries with strong performance requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience programming with Java language
  • Experience working with distributed systems based on Microservices (serverless solutions like Spring Cloud & Spring Boot or Amazon Lambdas is a plus)
  • Advanced experience with MongoDB Database: complex queries with strong performance requirements
  • Experience with Big Data frameworks (Spark preferably)
  • Easy to work with and agile enthusiast
  • Careful with performance, testability and design
  • Problem solver & fast learner mindset

Bonus points
  • Python, Scala or/and Kotlin, or R is a plus
  • Experience on financial sector from a Data point of view
  • Experience with NoSQL Databases (MongoDB preferably)
  • Experience with Message systems (Amazon Kinesis is a big plus)
  • Deep knowledge about algorithms (in terms of time&space complexity) and data structures (stack, queues, graphs, trees, etc.)
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge about the most popular ML algorithms
  • Experience with ML libraries like H2O, Mlib, TensorFlow, Azure, Scikit-Learn, etc
  • Experience with Cloud Computing Platforms (AWS preferably)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (TDD, Kanban)
