Job Description

As part of the Technology Development Team, the Solutions Architect oversees the design and implementation of the technical infrastructure that supports Olympic Channel Digital ecosystem; including but not limited to:

  • Front end applications (Web, Mobile and TV Apps)
  • Back-end systems.
  • Cloud design, architecting and assessment of new technology.
  • Design and build Application and Cloud security standards
  • Integration of third parties’ solutions and services and ensure that all services are delivered and maintained at the required quality standards supporting Operations and Support teams.
  • Must be motivated, well-organized, efficient trouble-shooter and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a single point of contact for all Cloud/infrastructure-related questions and issues.
  • Participate in the design of Cloud-based infrastructure solutions not limited to Web, Database, Storage, Networking) to ensure that initial and anticipated future business requirements are represented.
  • Work with the PMO and Project Manager to define project scope, duration, resource requirements, and costs.
  • Work with Cyber security teams ensuring that the proposed infrastructure solution complies with OCS Global Security Office policies.
  • Handover the infrastructure solution to the Operations Team for validation and testing.
  • Report throughout appropriate Stakeholders, including meetings as needed to provide a forum for issue/risk identification and remediation, and to progress decisions needed throughout the engagement.
  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge in cloud deployments, in at least one of the principal public cloud providers, designing complex and secure architectures.
  • Deep knowledge on Web platforms and familiar with CDN delivery architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of the whole backend stack including servers, databases, networks, and web application layers.
  • Familiar with Agile, Hybrid or Waterfall Project Management methodologies (Agile, Prince2, PMP or similar).
  • Familiar with internet video delivery standards, OTT platforms and ABR protocols (HLS, Mpeg-DASH, CMAF).
  • Familiar with Containers and Kubernetes web platforms architectures.
  • Capable of leading technical complex projects throughout whole lifecycle.
  • Highly familiar with open source and commercial monitoring systems: Datadog, Dynatrace or similar.
  • Experience on common Digital Marketing use cases (CRM notifications, AdOps, Customer Identity) and related technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in system engineering.
  • Cloud Architect certifications/training desirable (e.g. AWS Professional, MCSA: Cloud Platform or similar)

  • This is an open-ended position, either based in Madrid at our offices or remotely as a freelancer.
