Position

Bigfinite is seeking a Chief Platform Architect to act as one of the key technology leaders and to be responsible for the architecture and implementation and manage the company's platform. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with significant changes; developing/implementing strategies and processes that enable the organization to innovate and grow fast. He/She will have the opportunity to lead, participate, guide, and be the mentor of 2-4 people in the team and will be reporting to the VP of Engineering.


Responsibilities

Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS
Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation
Define and deploy monitoring, metrics and logging systems on AWS
Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform.
Design, manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes
Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant, and reliable applications on AWS
Selecting appropriate AWS services to design and deploy an application based on given requirements
Migrating complex multi-tier applications on AWS
Designing and deploying enterprise-wide scalable operations on AWS
Defend the architecture in the customer audits

Ability to build and manage/coordinate a DevOps role and tasks associated
Ability to evaluate and hire (DevOps) candidates

Qualifications

Fluency and demonstrated experience (at least 7 years) on designing, architecture, provisioning, operating and managing AWS environments
Desired experience in other cloud providers other than AWS.
Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure as Code.
Ability to evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications on AWS.
Experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language. (desirable)
Experience in tools like Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Ansible and CloudFormation.
Fluency in Linux (Ubuntu), Server Administration, Bash, Virtualization & Docker. (required)
Understanding of Agile and other development processes and methodologies. (desirable)
Security on cloud (desirable)
Proficient in spoken and written English (you will defend the architecture in front of foreign auditors)
