Compensation & Perks

💰 The salary range of this role is 25,000 – 35,000€ per annum, depending on experience.

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned product-aware Android engineer to help us on our mission to reinvent the future of credit. We are searching for engineerings who place the customer at the centre of everything, specifically looking at our service's design and quality.

We are looking for someone excited by working on products in their very early stage, a self-starter with the ability to take on a range of challenging and intriguing challenges. You will be focusing on our app for Android devices and helping our engineering team design the API and services that power Tymit's business. You will be involved in leveraging new applications and taking a pivotal role during design reviews sessions. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic about taking on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

During your time at Tymit you will

  • Work on all stages of the development lifecycle to maintain and add additional functionalities for our Android app.
  • Demonstrate an architectural vision with the ability to collaborate and iterate on software design, working with the broader Engineering Team to set the standards for software engineering best practices.
  • Participate in development life cycle activities such as design, coding, testing and production release, delivering high-quality code in an agile team environment, and creating the best possible experience for our customers.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Manager, Engineers and Designer to understand requirements, provide technical insights and provide timescale estimations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design team to ensure that the UI and UX are market-leading.
  • Troubleshoot critical production issues and provide technical insights.
  • Play an active role in hiring and mentoring other engineers in technology, process and methodologies.
  • Work with the broader engineering team to enhance, document, and establish processes and generally improve the app's design and functionalities.
  • Champion new technologies and enforce the best development patterns and practices and promote these to the wider Team.

Key technologies we use at Tymit

Android team: in your day-to-day you will be working with Kotlin, Coroutines, Flows, Channels, DI with Koin, Firebase, Jetpack components like Navigation Components, Room, LiveData, ViewBinding or DataBinding, Mock, Espresso, Screenshot Testing, CI with Jenkins, and MotionLayout.

Tymit tech team: we work with technologies such as Kotlin, SwiftUI, Swift, Java, Groovy, Grails, Quarkus, NodeJS, React, Python, RabbitMQ, Postgres, AWS, ELK, Docker, Docker Swarm, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.

We are always open to adopting new tools to solve complex problems, so we’re ready to discuss options with anyone with the right experience.

What you will bring along

  • You have experience with Kotlin and Java and frameworks and libraries such as Retrofit 2, Koin, Coroutine, or Espresso and experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, JavaScript and Swift.
  • You have a strong understanding of how to design and interact with RESTful APIs.
  • You will bring useful UI, concurrency, persistence and architectural approaches (MVC and MVVM).
  • You are comfortable building processes, culture and organisations to help deliver a best-in-class consumer-facing app.
  • You can think holistically, and maintain focus on small intricate details is essential for the high-impact role you will play at Tymit.
  • You are a great achiever who has a strong orientation for results beyond just great ideas.
  • You have a business mindset. Plus, you enjoy solving problems whilst wanting to inspire and share your knowledge and passion for FinTech.

30 min. video-call with Fran H., Principal Android Engineer. Brief technical discussion to understand more about the role and your skills.

Stage 3

90 min. video-call with Nicolás, Principal Android Engineer and Juan, Senior Android Engineer. Technical discussion around a task to better understand your skills and give you a sneak peek of what it could be working at Tymit. No need to do a technical test, prepare an existing code you are proud of to share with us.

Stage 4

60 min. video-call with two people from our Engineering team (AngelaCarlosCristianFran or Jorge). Introduction to your future team to get a sense of Tymit’s culture.

Stage 5

60 min. video-call with Nico, CTO and Co-Founder of Tymit. Understand the business future and help you to envision yourself at Tymit.
