*About the Role*
Wingman is an app-centred social platform helping
friends play matchmaker for singles in their social group. We’ve had
good traction and press coverage so far, and are looking to iterate and
polish before we aim for mass expansion.
You’ll be working with a
small part-remote team: the founder/CEO is based between London and
NYC; the CTO between Bath/Bristol and London. You can work remotely
nearly all the time— we don’t believe in meetings for meetings’ sake.
We
need an enthusiastic mobile developer comfortable taking on an existing
Java codebase. You should be comfortable writing unit tests and
structuring code to make it easily testable. The app currently is
written in Java, but you can do new work in Kotlin if that's your
preference.
We use Git Flow and have CodeCov and CodeClimate
integrations on our repos. CI builds run on Bitrise and auto-deploy
internally for high visibility of bleeding-edge work.
*About You*
We’re
looking for a key developer to own the Android component of our mobile
experience. Going forward we are putting an emphasis on improving
architecture and test coverage, so enthusiasm for these things is
important.
We love to see the Github profiles of candidates
(don’t worry, we’ve all got unfinished side-projects and non-production
code on ours). If you’ve contributed to open-source projects please tell
us about that as well!
Note that after a phone screen we will
need to see some code you've personally written in order to proceed with
your application.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are important for this position.
*About Us*
At
Wingman, we believe it’s not always about you. It’s also about your
incredible single friends. We offer the key insight that people’s
friends are the best guide to their true self when it comes to dating.
In addition to connecting singles, we let friends support each other and
help one another navigate all aspects of the dating scene.
We
are launched on iOS and Android and currently focusing on iteratively
polishing our product and building out our core technical team— we hope
you can be a part of that.
