Software Engineer – Edge (Data&Privacy) en Barcelona

We are looking for a software engineer to be part of a high-level flexible, international engineering team that uses the latest technologies to move from ideas to production and operations. You'll be working with the team that takes full ownership of the solutions we provide (you build it, you run it), meaning your impact can shape our – and our customers’ – ways of working.

What you’ll do

• Build one of the biggest services in Adevinta, YAMS, which delivers on-the-fly media (images, video, and documents) transformations to our marketplaces

• Build a GDPR service to orchestrate all data deletions and data take-outs across Adevinta.

• Engineer and implement highly scalable systems using best development practices and tools. We are delivering more than 11 billion assets monthly.

• Help define our development environment and communicate best development practices within the organization (i.e. code reviews, testing, etc)

• Continuously monitor the quality of our systems (both engineering systems and data quality) and design ways to measure their health

• Make sure any tech solution that you put in place is scalable, robust and resilient

• Troubleshoot production systems when things go wrong

Who you are:

• A team player with a good culture add to our team and Adevinta

• Display a high degree of effective and proactive communication, both written and verbally

• You have a good understanding of the best practices for developing software (version control, CI/CD, automation, peer programming, documentation, testing etc.)

• Proven ability and experience developing highly structured computer programs with Golang, Java or similar

• You have the desire to constantly learn and see challenges as an opportunity to keep growing

• Experience in building and maintaining systems at scale: service discovery, load balancing, secret management, dynamic request routing, circuit breakers and deployment schemes (rolling updates, canary, etc.)
