Worldsensing products have been pioneering the industrial IoT since 2008. We’re looking for an outstanding Software Engineer to join the Engineering team in our Barcelona office.

Founded in 2008, Worldsensing works with more than 200 engineering service providers worldwide to help them improve geotechnical, geospatial and structural monitoring in mining, construction, rail and critical infrastructure management.

With over 1,000 networks deployed worldwide and connecting over 65,000 sensors to the Internet of Things, our Loadsensing product is the leader in the IoT remote monitoring space.

The Loadsensing monitoring solution includes best-in-class edge devices, LoRa-based wireless connectivity and a cloud-based connectivity management platform. We also join forces with key industry players to offer software applications and solutions which engineering service providers use to add value to end customers.

We’re looking for an experienced, energetic Software Engineer to take Loadsensing to the next level.

The Mission:

The Software Engineer is a critical role for WorldSensing. This role’s primary focus is the development, definition and deployment of software solutions for our products, whilst ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from and to these products.

Responsibilities:

• Design, development and delivery of the company’s core platform and cloud applications, making sure our applications function properly (including scalability, efficiency, resilience, fault tolerance and data security techniques)
• Work closely with other engineers & designers, product owners, and other team members to implement complex end-to-end systems
• Use technical skills to close the gaps between new requirements and the WorldSensing products
• Deployment of the software solutions in cloud servers and (eventually) gateways in the field
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Rigorous commitment to documentation, quality engineering, testing, and support
• Mentor and guide junior developers both in technical and soft-skill matters

• 5+ years of software development experience, both in backend and frontend applications
• 3+ years of Python
• 2+ years with React is desired

• Experience with C/C++, Java, and TypeScript are a plus

• Experience with advanced programming frameworks and paradigms
• Good experience with Linux environments
• Deployment of applications on-premise and on cloud ( Rackspace, Google Cloud...)
• Experience with Docker and kubernetes
• Basic networking knowledge
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, preferably Git
• You're passionate about IoT & technical challenges. There should be something you know more about than anyone on our team
• Strong analysis and practical problem-solving abilities to resolve challenging situations
• You communicate with clarity and precision. We care about this almost as much as your technical ability
• You’re an empathetic person who is comfortable with changes and is an incredibly fast learner and has a can-do, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
• BS degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
• Good level of spoken and written English is required
