Launched in 2017 in the rebranding process of Heurisko, Altar is a
biotechnology company based in Genopole Evry which develops and
commercializes innovative solutions in the field of automated cell
cultivation. Its technologies are mostly used to improve characteristics
in microorganisms (bacteria, yeasts, microalgae) or plant cells.
Through
the commercialization of contract research and the execution of
co-development projects, Altar collaborates with leading industrial
companies and prestigious academic institutions. The company contributes
to the development of innovative and sustainable processes and products
with applications in various sectors (chemicals, food, feed, fuels,
cosmetics, biostimulation, biocontrol).
The new version of its
automated cell cultivation technology is currently under development and
will offer novel functionalities. Besides, informatic tools are
required for the digitalization and the scale-up of the company’s
activities. Finally, an ambitious Data Science program aims at
collecting and processing data obtained from the cultivation platform
and from genome sequencing.
You are base in Altar premises in Paris area (Genopole d’Evry and ESPCI Paris).
Main responsibilities
You work in tight collaboration with the other members of the team.
Under the supervision of the general manager, to whom you report, you are in charge of the following activities:
• Development of tools for data collection and processing;
• Development of automated reporting tools;
•
Digitalization in the laboratory: mapping of requirements, business
process modeling and assessment of existing solutions on the market
(including Open Source solutions);
• Maintenance of existing systems;
• Drafting of the necessary documentation and version management;
• Other activities and responsibilities, if necessary, to ensure the company’s success.
In
addition, you are assigned to certain tasks related to software
development of the cultivation platform, under the supervision of the
engineer in charge of its deployment and maintenance, to whom you report
for the following activities:
• Development of web interfaces and Java Linux control software;
• Interfacing with sensors on Arduino and technology watch;
• Development of a SNMP system for the monitoring of the cultivation platform;
• Maintenance of existing systems;
• Drafting of the necessary documentation and version management;
Selection criteria
Candidates should have the following qualities, skills and experience:
• Skills and expertise in informatics:
o Proficiency in Java, javascript, HTML, et Eclipse
o Linux environment, preferably Debian
o Digital electronics (I2C, SPI, Arduino)
o C++, SNMP, SQL, D3JS, Elasticsearch, Angular, REST
o Version Management system such as Git
• Basic knowledge or competence in data science;
• Ideally, you have at least one previous experience in the development of projects involving Java and web technologies;
• Bio-informatics skills are a bonus for the job;
• Curiosity, endurance and perseverance;
• Well-structured and rigorous working habit;
• Dynamism and leadership;
• Willingness to travel outside France and Europe;
• English proficiency.
