## About BUMP
Our mission at BUMP is to make all commerce social.
We let Gen Z shop with their friends online; with epic social features like group chat and rich profiles.
Shopping
has always been a social activity - older generations used to goto the
mall sharing recommendations, opinions and just generally having fun
with friends. Online shopping killed this and we're bringing it back for
Generation Z.
On BUMP users can build up their public profiles,
follow & message anyone on the platform and even create their own
group chats. Plus, we're working on introducing even more epic social
features that allow kids to hang out and build their online identity
with us which in turn drives transactions - we're a marketplace fuelled
by a social network.
In the future, shopping online will be more
of a multiplayer game so we're building the place where the most social
generation ever can shop with their friends online.
We're growing
fast too. Last year we went through Y Combinator and we've just
announced a $7.5M Series A round of funding from leading names in
venture capital including Kleiner Perkins,
e.ventures and Y Combinator to redefine social shopping.
## The Role
We’re
looking for a Front End Engineer that’s motivated to help us build our
marketplace for today's teens. BUMP already has a buzzing 300,000+
person strong community that’s passionate about streetwear &
sneakers but we want to support the other categories our audience is
forced to buy/sell elsewhere in a boring, single-playered way.
You'll
be working incredibly closely with our CEO, Senior Product Designer and
Director of Engineering to define and deliver future versions of our
web app. Our website is still super new so this is a brilliant
opportunity to work on a product that has thousands of users from the
outset.
We’re a small, nimble team that cares deeply about what
we build, how we build it, and the people who love BUMP. Being one of
the first engineers at the company, you will have the opportunity to
wear a lot of hats and define the early foundation of BUMP. As you grow
and as BUMP grows, you will be able to take future leadership roles and
define large aspects of our technology and culture.
We believe in strong equity packages too so we're all fully behind what we're building together at BUMP.
### Requirements:
* Substantive front end experience
* Deep knowledge of React
* CS degree or relevant work experience
* Experience with functional programming
* Ability to work in areas outside of your usual comfort zone and get things done quickly
* A love of learning and passion for writing clean, elegant code that other people can read
### Preferred:
* Experience with reactive programming
* Have a real passion for user experience
* Experience with Firebase
* Sneaker/streetwear addiction
