The opportunity
We are looking for a top mobile developer who has built and launched
many apps before, bringing concepts to life in beautiful and simple
ways. You've been there and done that. You know the hundreds of
'gotchas' of building modern mobile apps. You can balance engineering
excellence with the business and product needs. And, you do it fast,
really fast. You'll be working closely with other exceptional mobile and
backend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver
exceptional execution of our shared vision.
You will be the most senior person in the mobile team, so you will
have ownership of our mobile apps, their quality and their lifecycle, so
you have to be prepared to be looked up to by more junior team members
and be the ”go to” person where the Head of Engineering goes to when
things need to happen in the mobile space. Mentoring and public speaking
will come with the territory, as we are building a culture of learning
and sharing both internally and externally.
DoctorLink’s products empower healthcare providers to deliver health
care more efficiently and effectively by enabling patients to get
instant advice about their symptoms 24/7 and directing them to the right
treatment. Your job will be to lead a world-class team of engineers,
designers, researchers and clinical experts to make the symptom
assessment product as comprehensive and effective as possible for both
patients and healthcare providers, while always creating a simple and
delightful user experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity to shake up the healthcare sector in
the UK and worldwide. Our team of smart, ambitious, yet humble experts
in technology and healthcare is growing rapidly. With significant
backing from one of the most respected investment firms, we are tackling
one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century. Every day you will
help build a better future and make a difference that will impact people
today as well as improve the health & wellbeing of future
generations.
What we expect from you:
You have acquired your awesome mobile dev skills through a
combination of formal/informal education, years of on-the-job training
and working with other extraordinary software engineers.
You are very strong at delivering iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) apps.
You are used to running CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps and can make
sure that the team follow the most up-to-date practices in the mobile
dev+ops space.
As the most senior person in the mobile team you will have ownership
of the quality and deliverables in the team, ensuring best practices are
in place and mentoring of more junior team members happens.
You work well with other software engineers, helping define the
interactions between our platform and the app and taking a leadership
position in realising our vision.
You have a pragmatic/bias-for-action approach to things, you don't
overdo on abstraction, and judiciously apply testing and processes as
needed whilst understanding their impact on delivery.
You are detail oriented, have great empathy for end-users, and appreciate micro-interactions.
Besides the basic mobile tech requirements, you have been
exposed/understand concepts such as streaming, microservices and
distributed platforms, and have worked with technologies such as
ElasticSearch, REST, GraphQL and associated stacks.
Our culture & benefits:
A great compensation package - including healthcare, pension, bonus and work/life balance.
Incredible support to be (and become) the best that you can be.
The tools and the training to excel at your job.
Work at the heart of London, in Covent Garden, in a very cool office space with a committed, talented, and supportive team.
