Badoo is looking for a Senior MicroStrategy Developer who wants to
stretch their capabilities with one of the world’s fastest growing
social networks in a highly agile, social environment. The MicroStrategy
team service the MicroStrategy tool across the business, encompassing
user support, reporting and dashboard facilities for different
departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB ROLE
- MicroStrategy
Administration: make recommendations for security role setup and
project, I-server and web configuration settings to optimise for
performance e.g. element caching, cube build, web
- MicroStrategy
Schema Development: develop database and MicroStrategy logical views to
extend DB and MicroStrategy schema capability
- Reports/Documents/Dashboards
development: build reports, dashboards and logical views. Create
documentation dashboards centralising all project wide documentation;
Warehouse docs, MSTR training guides, style guides, templates
- Provide
support and training to users within the business: deliver
MicroStrategy 10.4 (Unix) certified training - Reporting Essentials,
Advanced Reporting, Project Design Essentials
- Interact with different departments to understand their requirements in depth
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Background with large database systems and large data sets essential (ideally column based)
- Proven implementation achievements (ideally multiple)
- Expert level in SQL
- MicroStrategy Intelligence Server
- MicroStrategy OLAP Services
- MicroStrategy Distribution Services
- MicroStrategy Web
- MicroStrategy Report Services
- Data modeling + dimensional modeling
- Involvement in MicroStrategy GA upgrades (or part of the process)
- Client facing experience
- Background with multiple Linux systems desirable
- SDK experience desirable
- Java experience desirable
- Hadoop desirable
- Understanding of ETL (data flows) desirable
- Data Visualisation (D3, matplotlib, ggplot) desirable
