About the role
We are on the lookout for a talented and seasoned Senior Frontend Application and Design System Engineer to become an integral part of our 'Frontend Framework' team. This role is pivotal in sculpting the future of our frontend landscape. You will play a key role in the evolution and expansion of our design system, alongside championing best practices to support a dynamic team of 100-200 engineers. This position offers the opportunity to exert significant influence and ownership over these processes.
Responsibilities
Assume a pivotal role in the creation of our next-generation design system, demonstrating robust ownership to facilitate a transition to a scalable and maintainable architecture. This design system will be intricately crafted to cater to both the company's objectives and the engineering team's requirements.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with interdisciplinary teams, including backend developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers, to guarantee a cohesive integration and an exceptional user experience.
- Develop, document, and sustain components in adherence to established standards.
- Enhance the synergy between designers and developers by implementing automated solutions.
- Establish and uphold front-end architectural standards, best practices, and design patterns across the engineering organization. Tackle complex technical debt to boost system maintainability and performance.
- Mentor and guide engineers in advancing their front-end expertise, nurturing a culture of ongoing learning and development.
- Spearhead the creation of essential front-end tools and components, augmenting application performance, modularity, and maintainability.
- Collaborate intimately with product managers to comprehend user requirements and convert them into effective front-end solutions that elevate user satisfaction.
- Lead discussions on Front End technical strategies and decisions, ensuring they are in sync with business objectives and scalability demands.
- Promote the establishment of robust front-end conventions within an event-driven architecture framework, advocating best practices in event management and communication.
- Operate effectively within a design system context, maintaining consistency and usability in the user interface.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually advance our front-end application in a transformative landscape.
This role is for you if you have:
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Senior Front End Application Engineer or similar role in complex web applications.
- Strong expertise with JavaScript/ES6, Typescript, React and its ecosystems
- Expertise with bundling tools such as webpack, Vite, rollup
- Experience with building, distributing and maintaining Javascript libraries (npm modules)
- Experience working with complex frontend architecture such as micro frontends
- Experience in building a Design System, and ensuring consistency and adherence to established design principles
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering skill growth and collaboration. Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
It would be great if you also:
- Have Previous experience in SaaS or enterprise-level application development
- Have excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating complex technical debt.
- Have demonstrated the ability to make trade-offs for incremental progress while driving transformation initiatives.
Hiring process
1. First you will meet a Talent Acquisition Specialist for a discovery call (45 min)
2. Next step will be a meeting with Gaël & Rafa, Product Manager & Designer (60 min)
3. You will go through a frontend technical interview with Nicolas & Cyril, Staff Engineers (60 min)
4. Then you will have a System Design live discussion with Stephen, Staff Engineer (45 min)
5. The last step would be having a discussion with Pierre, Engineering Director (30 min)
