We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Team at Netquest in Barcelona. Our data function covers the three main specialties — Data Science ???? Data Analytics ???? and Data Engineering ????️ — and while we have a strong foundation, we’re now looking for a technical leader to take our Data Engineering capabilities to the next level. You’ll play a key role in designing robust, scalable, and future-proof data solutions.

Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain complete data pipelines from scratch.
Make strategic decisions on scale-up vs. scale-out approaches, combining both effectively in pipelines.
Define and evolve our data architecture and promote best practices across the company.
Ensure data governance and maintain data integrity during reprocessing or pipeline evolution.
Design monitoring and alerting mechanisms to ensure data health and quality at every stage.
Build Quality Control and Validation processes (Quality Gates) within the data lifecycle.
Advise and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design optimal data solutions.
Support the team in operational environments and infrastructure setup for testing and production.
Foster knowledge sharing through mentoring, code reviews, and pair programming.
What You Will Bring to the Team
YOUR PROFILE
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ideally in senior or lead capacity.
Strong ability to design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines.
Advanced understanding of data modeling, data schemas, and data evolution.
Deep knowledge of data architecture, data transformation design patterns, and data governance.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, application packaging, and deployment best practices.
Strategic mindset — ability to balance operability, cost, and performance in data solutions.
Experience mentoring others and fostering cross-team collaboration.
⚙️ Technologies and Standards
Proficiency in Python and SQL.
Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow).
Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark).
Understanding of cloud infrastructure and services (preferably AWS).
Knowledge of testing, monitoring, and CI/CD practices for data systems.
Experience integrating R&D prototypes into production-ready pipelines.
