Eurovision Technology Hub is looking for a Network Security Engineer to join the Eurovision Services (ES) Global Operations & Engineering team at our technology hub in Madrid, Spain.

ABOUT THE ES GLOBAL OPERATIONS & ENGINEERING TEAM

The ES Global Operations & Engineering department is the central point of contact for all customers receiving operational services from Eurovision Services, coordinating the management of requirements and delivery for all events, transmission and media services between broadcasters, EBU Members, sport federations and event organisers. The ES Global Operations & Engineering department is responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions and achieving ambitious operational objectives, implementing reliable delivery solutions to provide outstanding value and services for our customers, while optimising costs to improve our bottom line.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION

As a member of the Engineering & Technology team in charge of network, systems, voice, and security, you will focus on ensuring a high level of security on our information systems.

You will also collaborate on a regular basis with the EBU security team to provide them with support to improve information security.

In this role as Network Security Engineer, you will:

  • Work in collaboration with the EBU Information Security Manager on security enhancement, developing standards and best practices
  • Define and release security dashboards on a regular basis
  • Provide support and response to security events and incidents
  • Contribute to the implementation of a continuous threat and incident monitoring programme
  • Contribute to improving methods and tools for cyber incident analysis, detection & response
  • Support technical cyber risk assessments in various operational environments (IT, broadcast, digital services), including but not limited to threat modelling, architecture and design reviews, vulnerability assessments, application security testing and penetration testing
  • Follow, assess and advise on new and emerging cyber threats
  • Schedule, execute and analyse vulnerability scanning plans
  • Participate in technical security remediation/mitigation planning
  • Review firewalls and applicative security policies
  • Be involved in ES projects to ensure security best practices are applied
  • Collaborate with systems and software development engineers on security aspects
  • Maintain documentation
  • Be part of the Service Desk rotation following up service requests, network and security incidents (no more than once a week)
  • Be part of the network and security on-call rotation handling emergency network and security incidents at nights and on weekends (no more than once a month)
  • Configure, update manage and monitor security components within Datacom’s scope in collaboration with network and security engineers
  • Occasionally be involved in preparation and operations of major events

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate must have:

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar or related position
  • Deep understanding of common network protocols (DNS, HTTP, SMTP, FTP)
  • Deep understanding of SSL/TLS and PKI
  • Deep understanding of Linux environments
  • Experience with Ansible/Elastic stack
  • Experience with security tools (Kali, Nessus, Metasploit, etc.)
  • Knowledge of access management (PAM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of scripting (Bash, Perl, Python/Powershell, batch)
  • Knowledge of the AWS cloud environment
  • Knowledge of CISCO routing/switching, CheckPoint or Palo Alto firewalls
  • At least one security professional certification (such as GIAC, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCSP, etc.).
  • The ability to work in a very challenging and demanding environment

  • Working with geographically distributed and international teams (our headquarters are located in Switzerland)
  • French language knowledge
