What you will do
As a MySQL DBA at Catawiki, you are
the master of hundreds of servers and dozens of services. All Catawiki
users will appreciate you for placing great importance on
high-availability and fault-tolerance in each and every piece of
infrastructure. Your colleagues will praise you for the awesome runtime
you are building to provide them with the highest level of service and
security.
With your broad knowledge of the
infrastructure and X-Ray vision you can see everything what will happen
in the next second. Any cloud provider is envious of your magical
provisioning script when setting up a new cluster. You know that the
heaven is a place where each packet, connection and log line matters.
You'll achieve all of this and more by working closely together with the
team of system engineers and back-end developers who really appreciate
the pragmatic approach you are taking. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Automating database systems management;
- Actively monitoring and troubleshooting of all database infrastructure;
- Providing knowledge and support for software developers.
The list of the tools you'll be faced
with includes but is not limited to: Linux, KVM, Ansible, Git, Nginx,
MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, Solr, Apache Kafka, Hadoop,
Cassandra, Redis, Zabbix, ELK, AWS.
Who you are
A MySQL (Oracle / Percona / MariaDB)
DBA with good communication skills, a minimum of 3 years of experience
in database administration and overall minimum of 5 years of experience
in system administration. You have:
- Extensive experience in MySQL administration;
- Experience in benchmarking, performance tuning and capacity planning;
- Strong skills in building and maintaining replication topologies;
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure;
- Automation mindset and experience with automation tools (preferably Ansible);
- Awareness of different storage technologies and network protocols.
- Good knowledge of Linux and scripting tools;
- Knowledge of other database technologies (PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, …)
- Worked on high-traffic websites (preferably).
