Moodle Workplace is a newly launched product for organisational learning and development. It is the best of Moodle, fine-tuned for organisational learning, delivering a consistent and solid solution for training and professional development within organisations.

You will join our team to help us to make Moodle Workplace the best solution for organisations, working on great features built on the robust Moodle platform.

Moodle produces an open source learning platform with over 100,000 registered sites including more than 150 million users worldwide. In pursuit of our mission of "empowering educators to improve our world", Moodle's software provides educators and learners powerful, flexible software tools for online learning and collaboration.

Moodle software is used as a key part of operations for: schools and Universities such as the UK Open University, University of Barcelona, Monash University, Columbia University, Shanghai International University and Mumbai University; corporate users such Mazda, Allianz, Vodafone and Coca-Cola, as well as other organisations such as the United Nations, World Vision International and the US Defence force.

The Workplace team is mostly based in Spain and UK, but we have colleagues all over the world too - Australia (Moodle HQ offices are in Perth), Belgium, Canada, USA, Czechia, Netherlands, Brazil, Italy and Greece.

Requirements:

What your new job can look like...

Most days can involve a mix of:

  • writing high quality code.
  • designing and documenting the implementation of new features.
  • reviewing code.
  • writing automated tests.
  • collaborating with other developers across multiple dev teams.
  • contributing to the future direction of the Moodle software.
  • ...and having a laugh with your team...

We'd love to meet you...

Especially if you can talk to us about your:

  • minimum of 2 years of programming experience with Moodle (PHP, JS)
  • minimum of 3 years of programming experience in a medium to large scale development environment (PHP)
  • good knowledge of Moodle Architecture
  • experience using Git and Jira
  • good knowledge of PHP, SQL, HTML5, CSS, Javascript.
  • good knowledge of web application security, performance and scalability.
  • experience working with Web Services and RESTful applications.
  • ability to organise your own workload in order to meet deadlines.
  • enthusiastic and approachable personality.
  • excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • fluency in English

Extra awesome if you:

  • Have contributed to the Moodle project, especially with code (core or plugins)
  • Have experience writing unit tests and behat tests
