We are seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join the Platform Engineering Domain in the Cloud Control Team.
The mission of Platform Engineering is to provide trusted, performant, self-service platforms that empower product teams to build “the bank the world loves to use.” Cloud Control’s part of this mission is to develop solutions for cloud infrastructure deployment and management.

In this role, you will:
Be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure in order to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of N26 services. Working in this area involves a deep understanding of cloud computing architecture, orchestration and deployment tools and languages, and policy validation approaches, as well as the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
More specifically, you will:
- Design, develop, and implement services and solutions to improve the security, reliability, and scalability of N26 infrastructure and systems in these domains:
- AWS multi-account architecture and service provisioning
- Infrastructure configuration, templating, and deployment management
- Infrastructure security best practices monitoring and enforcement
- Continuous improvement and automation of our infrastructure and its configuration
- Automation and migration towards latest technologies and software releases
- Authorization and access management for regulatory compliance
- Guide and direct the Cloud Control team plans, priorities, and objectives
- Mentor and support other team members and also learn from them
- Join the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to define our vision and act as an expert when meeting with stakeholders
- Take ownership of our cloud architecture and deployment services, and ensure their optimal performance, reliability, and security
- Collaborate with other teams to understand their requirements and provide solutions and automation to meet their needs
- Create monitors and alerts, diagnose, and resolve issues related to infrastructure deployment and provisioning services
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technology in cloud infrastructure
- Expand and develop your cloud knowledge, skills, and technology expertise
What you need to be successful:
Previous experience in leading a team of engineers
Hands-on, production expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Production experience in container virtualization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Performance monitoring and incident analysis
Experience with orchestration languages and services such as Terraform
Knowledge of Git and CI/CD tools and practices
Experience programming in Go and/or Python
Broad understanding of systems (Linux) and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, etc.)
Product mindset and experience collaborating with Product Managers
Proactive, with an ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
Good communication skills and a sense of ownership, with a systematic problem-solving approach
Desire to learn, improve and leave systems in a better state than you found them in
