About Us:
We are a newly founded startup sponsored by a global leader in transportation networks.
We provide a new and innovative solution to understand transportation
networks by using powerful machine learning tools and stunning data
visualisations.
Our product is in use in several major cities across the globe, and
we are expanding extremely quickly. We want to be the world leader in
smart cities solutions. By reconstituting people's itineraries within a
transportation network, we allow cities to finally understand how people
move. Using complex algorithms, we can even explore the impact of a
modification to a transportation network. We want to help cities adapt
their networks so than people can move more easily be more connected.
The project has been going on for months, but we have been existing
as a startup for only a couple of days, expect a change of brand name
and logo really soon.
The Role:
As the Lead Data Scientist, you will be a foundation stone of the company and one of the first employees.
You will be solving many interesting scientific problems. Here are a few:
* reconstituting passengers trips using ticket information
* interpolating bus GPS positions with the road networks to guess when a bus stopped at a particular station
* detecting anomalies in data sources
* working on a simulation algorithm to understand what happens when you add more tramways in a network
You will have access to a wealth of clean structured data, so that
you can focus on the development and maintenance of algorithms. You will
be expected to implement the core of the algorithms and to have
experience writing production-ready code, the back-end team will provide
you with training and insight on that matter. Most of your time will be
devoted to researching and improving the product's core algorithms.
You will be responsible for the management and training of the data
science team, and will need to structure the research effort.
English speaking application are welcome. The role is on site in Paris.
