We are Emotech, a London-based robotics startup that aims to improve
the relationship between human and technology with our innovative,
AI-powered, personal robot named Olly.
Olly is an emotional companion and smart assistant that develops its
own personality based on its interaction with you, so that you can have a
more balanced, natural interaction with technology, while also using
smart scheduling and nuanced contextual notifications to motivate your
learning, creativity, productivity and wellbeing. Olly is also your
smart home hub to integrate and simplify the process the interaction
with ‘internet of things’ devices at home.
As the Head of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Take care of overall SW architecture, including high-end mobile platform and cloud services
- Make it production orientated, scalable and modular
- How to build API and SDK
- Work on an SW platform that can be used by community developers
(later one we will have apps store, where users will download special
skills for a robot/assistant - like App store)
- Design a core platform in a way that can be licensed by third-parties.
- How to efficiently connect research libraries/blocks with the rest of the app
- Online platform to configure Olly and link user's accounts to it.
- Manage SW development team
- Help on sourcing exceptional software developers.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of AI and ML
- Fluent in C++, Python, Java, Architecture design
- Familiar with cloud platforms, multi-level systems, testing procedures, deployment.
- Not too senior (we are still young and fast moving team)
- Have experiences of working for a corporate (like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, etc), or top startups.
- Have a degree from a top University. Preferably in the field of AI.
- Hands-on
- Know how to motivate a team and make sure, that development is on track.
- Have to be open to accept a difficult challenge and propose the best solutions
