I am Carlos and I lead a team as Engineering Manager at Ingka Digital (IKEA). We are looking for passionate engineers who are excited about technology and innovative ways of working and want to be a part of shaping the future of IKEA stores! Our team is responsible for developing digital solutions that will provide convenient, inspiring, and fun shopping experiences to our customers in our Physical Meeting Points (PMP). Also, we plan to transform and enhance processes for our co-workers in the IKEA stores. We are building a winning team with a clear mission and priorities! We are agile and adapt fast to changes. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING  Designing and implementing the backend services, frontend UI, data models, messaging and API specs. Developing high quality code using and applying good practices. Establishing standards and patterns, advocate adoption of technology both internally and towards the user groups in the PMP area. Working in an Agile way and with a DevOps mindset. Cross-team collaboration between web, app, cloud & backend, and embedded systems. Driving the product discovery, development and operation process within a multidisciplinary team (Product, Data, UX and Engineering) while contributing to the design and deployment of IKEA Digital In-Store solutions. YOUR SKILLS INCLUDE:  • Good experience in software engineering.• Experienced in JavaScript (NodeJS/React), Python, or other programming languages.• Interested with building microservices using cloud solutions (Serverless preferably on GCP)• Experience with web development and good understanding of API design.• Experience in working with GitHub, CI/CD, DevOps and Agile.• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL DBs. ABOUT THE TEAM We are based in Madrid (Spain), but also have fully remote team members distributed across Malmö/Helsingborg (Sweden), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and other parts of Europe. From now on we plan to meetup once or twice a week at the Madrid Digital Hub (San Sebastian de Los Reyes, Madrid). We are a new but rapid growing team (our hub was founded less than 2 years ago!). I love that together with our Data/UX/Product colleagues are able to prove new business and technology concepts in the IKEA stores across the globe and iterate and progressively create value for our customers and co-workers.
