You will head the company’s software engineering team and guide its
growth via additional resources including new hires and external
resources, existing and new. Your role will work closely with our
founder and COO and act as a technical adviser in helping with
decisions. As a start-up, we all wear many hats and you will be
comfortable across the stack and comfortable with performing a variety
of tasks.
You will be a key member in development of new features and functionalities, de-bugging and maintenance-
• Become key lead for in-house software development team
• Manage tasks agreed per weekly sprint stand up
• Develop and implement new features and functionalities
• Seek out existing issues & problems, propose and implement solutions
• Manage and synchronize releases from pre-production to production system
• Write and document code
• Implement graphical/artistic changes/revisions from outside web agency in conformity with company design specs
• Support is available from outside developer with knowledge of app
Environment
AWS hosted application in Linux OS, Debian 7 distribution, written
in Ruby on rails, uses Ruby version mgr., Nginx, PostgreSQL, Redis,
Sidekiq, Sunspot Solr & Unicorn.
Other: New Relic, Rollbar,
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience building scalable and reliable web applications
• Wants to be a key team member in shaping the growth and development of product
• Database architecture skills; Social networking infrastructure know-how; Some knowledge of machine learning
• Comfortable being sole in-house developer for 2 to 4 months pending additional hires
• Fluent English and ability work in EU or US
