At Devex, our mission is to make global development professionals more efficient in their day-to-day work and we are currently seeking a Front-end Developer to ensure that our member community has a positive user experience when interacting with our content.
Responsibilities
Implement user-facing features using AngularJS, JavaScript, Rails with a strong focus on clarity, maintainability, flexibility, cross-browser compatibility and performance
Update, enhance, and maintain existing parts of our website
Actively participate in planning, wireframing, testing, and delivery activities
Develop and lead the implementation of front-end coding and design standards
Work closely with the marketing and communications team and UI designers to ensure the best possible user experience on all devices
Minimum Qualifications
EU work authorization
Demonstrated expertise in creating user interfaces with JavaScript, HTML5 & CSS3
Experience with MVC frameworks, preferably Ruby on Rails
Basic understanding of backend technologies like REST APIs and Databases
Proven knowledge of responsive and usable web design practices, including cross-browser and device compatibility issues and limitations
Strong communication skills and ability to present information about technical flows to executive stakeholders
Excellent organization and multitasking ability
General understanding of Agile Development process
2-3 years prior experience
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
Interest in UI design trends and or global development
Strong written and presentation skills
Experience with Photoshop or similar graphic editors
This is a full-time position available in the Barcelona, Spain office.
