We are looking for an Engineering Lead with experience building React or Angular applications to join our Tech team in Spain. Your daily work will primarily focus on leading and managing a squad as it develops and maintains web applications using Typescript, ES6, Angular, React, and CSS. Our teams write quality code using TDD and Unit Testing. We use GitHub, GitHub Actions, and a full CI/CD pipeline. You will work side by side with and provide leadership to a multidisciplinary and multicultural team distributed among our different offices around Europe.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the squad’s daily technical delivery.
  • Contribute code to production systems.

  • Ensure the squad’s technical solutions are aligned with architectural standards in a way that balances feature delivery and tech debt creation.

  • Provide estimates of the squad’s upcoming and planned work.

  • Ensure that production support issues are being solved in a timely way and according to established SLAs.

  • Ensure that OKRs, technical initiatives, and other non-Product initiatives are being prioritised, and that the squads in your domains have bandwidth available to work on non-Product-driven initiatives.

  • Ensure that QA, Monitoring, Alerting, and product security are prioritised within your domains.

  • Use verbal and written communication skills in a positive, empathetic way.

  • Lead by example and living progressive leadership values.

  • Understand and documenting each individual squad member’s professional goals; Developing a growth plan targeted at those goals.

  • Document and assessing personal performance expectations for each squad member; Measuring, reviewing, and communicating each squad member’s progress toward meeting those performance expectations.
