About Cala

At Cala, we believe knowledge should be an object. Not something you search, but something you query, traverse, and build with.

We're creating the world's knowledge repository: transforming the chaos of internet into trustworthy, structured, agent-ready data. A foundation where developers and AI agents work side by side to build products grounded in real human knowledge.

Our product is only as powerful as the community building with it. That's why we're looking for a strategic, hands-on DevRel leader to bring Cala to the people who'll shape its future: Developers.

You'll be the face of Cala to the global dev community and their voice inside our engineering team. This is a high-impact, high-mobility role, and yes, a fun one! You know that dev communities aren't built from a desk. You'll be on the ground, in the heart of tech hubs worldwide, helping developers discover Cala as their go-to tool for building AI that actually leverages knowledge.

About the role 💡

You'll own developer adoption end-to-end: strategy, evangelism, and building alongside the community. That means designing programs and events that get Cala into developers' hands, and bringing what you learn back to our product and engineering teams.

This is not a "Reddit posting role". One week you might be running workshops at hackathons in SF, London, or Singapore. Next, you're pairing with our engineering team in Barcelona on DX improvements. You'll be wherever developers are, and wherever the product needs to go.

We're early. Your voice won't just influence the roadmap, it will help set it.

What You Will Lead 🛠️

Developer Adoption

  • Design and run a calendar of global events (hackathons and others) that puts Cala's capabilities in front of the right builders to showcase what's unique about Cala

  • Represent Cala at major developer conferences.

Developer Experience

  • Act as the internal advocate for all the developers building with Cala. Design and own onboarding flows, guides, and sample code.

  • Coordinate a feedback loop between community and engineering that works. Speak to developers, translate their pain points and ideas into inputs that we can bring to our product roadmap.

Technical Content & Evangelism

  • Write and publish relevant content about Cala

  • Represent Cala at events, and build in public. Show developers what's possible with structured public data.

  • Create tutorials, reference architectures, and integrations (n8n, LangChain, etc.) that ease the adoption of Cala

Who You Are 🔎

  • Creative and energizing. You know how to get developers excited, and you're always looking for fresh ideas: whether that's an unconventional event format, a viral demo, or content that actually gets shared.

  • Credible. You can build a working demo, review an API design, and go deep on technical tradeoffs. Not just talk about technology at a high level.

  • Experienced. You've grown a developer community or led a DevRel function before. You're well connected and know the who's-who in the dev world.

  • Energized by travel. This role lives where developers live: hackathons, conferences, tech hubs. If that sounds exhausting, this isn't the role. If it sounds exciting, keep reading.

  • A clear communicator. You can take a complex technical concept and make it click in a 5-minute lightning talk or a 500-word article

  • Startup-ready. We're early, which means ambiguity, speed, and building the plane while flying it. You're not just comfortable with that: you thrive in it.

Why This Role Matters to Us 🚀

We're building Cala for developers, so DevRel isn't a support function here, it's how we build the company. This role puts you at the center of everything: the first to show developers what Cala can do, the first to see how they adopt it, and the first to bring those insights back to shape what we build next.
