Data is at the heart of
everything Nested does - from our customer facing automatic valuation
model to the tools our team uses internally.
We’re looking for
someone to help us develop the foundations we already have into
world-class data infrastructure capable of supporting production quality
product features. We’re also looking for someone who can play a central
role in our research and development programme to improve our data
models on an ongoing basis.

McKinsey and the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
Requirements
The role
The role is split between data science and engineering, with an emphasis on engineering. You will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing data infrastructure suitable for supporting production features.
- Overseeing the operation of data processing systems in production.
- Contributing significantly to data model research and development.
- Working closely with the product and product engineering teams on a day-to-day basis.
- Working
closely with the analysts in our operations team, with an emphasis on
building infrastructure and tools to support their work.
The ideal candidate
We think you’ll probably:
- Have
a background in software engineering, for example, by having worked as
part of a product oriented engineering team in the past.
- Have
hands-on experience building and maintaining data infrastructure. This
doesn’t necessarily mean at ‘big data’ scale, or using cutting edge
machine learning algorithms, but you should be thoroughly familiar with
Linux, ETL pipelines and SQL databases.
- Take a scientific, evidence oriented approach to product development.
Things which would be useful, but not essential:
- Experience in scientific research, either academically or in a previous commercial role.
- Experience working in an early stage start-up.
