Offering original programming, news, live sports events and highlights, the Olympic Channel provides additional exposure for sports and athletes 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in 12 languages on olympics.com. The Olympic Channel was launched in August 2016 in support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s goal, set out in Olympic Agenda 2020, of providing a new way to engage younger generations, fans and new audiences with the Olympic Movement.

Sports Data Warehouse (SDW) Project

The SDW Project was launched in 2017 by the IOC, in partnership with the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF). Its aim was to create an intelligent, scalable, centralised, unified repository of sports data, easily connectable to in-house or third-party platforms.

The SDW Product today is an ever-growing data repository containing over 825,000 Olympic and elite athletes and +70,000 events. Able to synchronise and merge with any sports data source, with the datasets stored within made available via a standardised API, the SDW is used as a platform for data projects by stakeholders throughout the Olympic Movement; providing added values to global sports fan; supplying content and context around live events and facilitating the presentation of historical archives as reference data for the IOC, International Federations and National Olympic Committees.
