Amazon is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive applied scientist with Machine Learning and Search background to join the Search Science team in Barcelona (Spain).

You will work with the largest online retail search application in the world, both in terms of users, catalogue size, and computing resources, and your work will directly impact millions of our customers. You will work alongside internationally recognized experts in science and engineering to develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques to advance the state-of-the-art in search and natural language processing. You will work with scientist and engineers in the Barcelona Search Science team, and collaborate with the Barcelona Core AI group, other Amazon groups worldwide (AWS, Alexa, Music and others) and top researchers in academia.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· A PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics, Data Mining, Information Retrieval, or related field (alternatively, 3 years in scientist role)
· 3+ years applied research experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in:
· Search experimentation, evaluation, A/B testing
· Statistical data analysis
· Distributed programming
· Software development
· Very large scale data processing
· Very large scale ML
