We are currently seeking an Application Security Engineer to be part of the front-line defense against the cyber attackers and threats.
Do
you like finding security vulnerabilities in existing software? Do you
want to discover, learn and try attack vectors? Is it a challenge for
you to create cracker-proof applications? Do you believe in open source
and want to protect those who cannot afford it?
We are looking for an individuals with independent thinking, proactive and who has a sixth sense for security vulnerabilities.
In this role, you will...
- Determine ways to close security vulnerabilities reported by security researchers, customers and community
- Create and review code that will secure thousands of deployments
- Cooperate on designing and implementing new security features
- Build trust in open source security
- Have the back of your colleagues, customers and community
- Work on a software solution with over 2M Java SLOC
- Participate in the security education of Liferay team and community
- Work
with Product Engineering, QA, Release Engineering, Product Management
and other teams to help create a secure enterprise open source products.
Expectations
- Very good understanding of web-app Java code and related web-app technologies
- Understanding of common application security issues
- Experience in exploiting and / or fixing security issues and penetration testing
- Proven track of responsible disclosure
- Ability to identify risks related to found vulnerabilities
- Understanding and finding out a balance between usability and security
- Demonstrated ability to work in collaborative, dynamic, team-based environments
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
